PLN prepares six-layer electrical security for FIFA ASEAN Cup at GBK
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT PLN (Persero) Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit (UID) is preparing six-layer electrical security for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), which will take place from 25 September to 5 October 2026.
“We want the public’s entire attention to be focused on the spirit of competition and the achievements of the athletes. Therefore, PLN UID Jakarta Raya is preparing a reliable electrical system and full-alert personnel so that every match can run smoothly from start to finish,” said the General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin, in Jakarta on Friday.
Andy stated that all preparations are being made to ensure matches proceed without disruption and to provide comfort for players, officials, media, organisers, and the attending public.
Electrical reliability is a crucial component in supporting the tournament, particularly given the high number of spectators and the level of activity within and around the stadium.
“The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is an important momentum for Indonesia. We are ready to maintain the electricity supply throughout the tournament to ensure the entire series of matches in Jakarta can proceed smoothly,” he added.
Utilising a ‘Zero Down Time’ standard electrical system, PLN UID Jakarta Raya is implementing multi-layered security to maintain the reliability of the power supply during matches held in Jakarta.
In addition to securing the power supply at the main stadium, PLN UID Jakarta Raya is also ensuring electrical reliability at several training venues, including Madya Stadium, AB Senayan Field, and STIK Field. This readiness is intended to support the activities of participating teams from the training period through to the matches.
At SUGBK, PLN UID Jakarta Raya is implementing a six-layer electrical security system supported by a supply scheme from three subsystems, five substations, and six feeders, complemented by PLN UPS and customer generators. Hundreds of officers will also be on standby 24 hours a day at crucial match points and other supporting areas.
As the primary support for the power supply for match lighting (Field of Play) and other critical areas, PLN UID Jakarta Raya is preparing Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) with a total capacity of 1,260 kVA. This equipment will be placed at several strategic points, including the West VIP IB area, East VIP IB area, West VIP Royal Box, and the East Side Corridor.
Through the readiness of electrical systems, supporting equipment, and fully alert personnel, PLN UID Jakarta Raya is prepared to support the smooth running of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 in Jakarta by ensuring the power supply remains reliable throughout the entire series of matches.
