PLN Prepares Electricity and Wi-Fi for Smooth Running of 35th NU Congress
PT PLN (Persero) has confirmed that electricity and telecommunications requirements have been prepared to support the series of major agenda items at the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress in Jombang, East Java.
Independent Commissioner of PT PLN (Persero), Ali Masykur Musa, personally inspected the readiness of the electricity supply and telecommunications infrastructure at the congress venue located in Tambakberas, Jombang Regency, East Java.
The visit was carried out to ensure the reliability of the power supply and internet access could run without disruption during the 35th NU Congress. The agenda is scheduled to be officially opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.
During his inspection, Ali Masykur Musa affirmed PLN’s commitment to supporting the smooth running of the major event held by the religious organisation.
“PT PLN Persero supports the electricity needs for the NU Congress event in Tambakberas, Jombang,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (25/8/2026).
Not only ensuring the main electricity supply, PLN, through its sub-holding PLN Icon Plus, has also prepared telecommunications network infrastructure by installing Wi-Fi access points that can be accessed throughout the congress area.
The provision of the internet network is intended to support the communication needs of the organising committee, participants, media, and the congregation attending during the event.
“PT PLN also supports the Wi-Fi infrastructure so that connectivity reaches the entire congress arena, including activity areas and the pendopo/town square,” he concluded.
PLN’s technical support covers a number of important locations in the Tambakberas area, one of which is the Al-Amanah 2 Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School. At this location, a series of Istighatsah and Manaqib Kubro events were held by Jam’iyyah Ahlith Thoriqoh Al-Mu’tabaroh An-Nahdliyyah (JATMAN) in commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, as well as a collective prayer for the smooth running and success of the 35th NU Congress.
Through the readiness of the electricity and internet network infrastructure, PLN is striving to support the comfort of all parties involved in the series of activities at the 35th NU Congress.
This support is also part of PT PLN (Persero)’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL/CSR) programme. The synergy is expected to guarantee the smooth running of religious activities while supporting public comfort and the potential for religious tourism in the Jombang area.
