JAKARTA – PT PLN (Persero) has ensured the readiness of electric vehicle charging infrastructure to support the smooth flow of Eid travel in 2026. Nationally, the number of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) prepared reaches thousands of units and is widely distributed across various regions. PLN, together with its partners, has prepared a total of 4,769 SPKLU units spread across 3,097 locations throughout Indonesia. Of that number, 1,681 SPKLU units are located on strategic Eid travel routes of Trans-Sumatra–Java–Bali. To strengthen services at crowded points, PLN has also introduced the SPKLU Center concept at several major rest areas, particularly in Central Java. There are a total of five SPKLU Center locations, namely at Rest Area 275A Tegal, Rest Area 343 Batang, Rest Area 319B Pemalang, the Krapyak Semarang area, and Rest Area 438A Bawen. “Earlier, I communicated with visitors who were charging, they felt comfortable because charging is also very easy, and at this rest area, PLN has also provided a post and lounge for a comfortable waiting area,” said Arsyadany, in an official statement (21/3/2026). The SPKLU Center itself is designed as a large-capacity charging point with more complete facilities compared to regular SPKLU. In addition, the SPKLU Center is equipped with 10 to 20 parking slots for simultaneous charging, thus able to reduce queues at rest areas that are usually crowded during the Eid travel season. Supporting facilities such as comfortable lounges, 24-hour operational services, and simultaneous charger technology that allows one device to charge two vehicles at once, further strengthen PLN’s readiness in serving electric vehicle users.
