Residents in Minyambouw, Taige, Hink, and Anggi Gida districts now enjoy reliable and stable 24-hour electricity supply. PT PLN (Persero) Papua and West Papua Regional Unit (UIWP2B) has provided 24-hour electricity to 1,396 households across four districts of Pegunungan Arfak Regency in West Papua. Roberth Rumsaur, General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) Papua and West Papua Regional Unit, stated in Jayapura on Saturday that the extended power supply demonstrates PLN’s commitment to providing equitable energy access in remote areas. “Residents in Minyambouw, Taige, Hink, and Anggi Gida districts now enjoy reliable and stable 24-hour electricity supply,” he said. Previously, Minyambouw residents had only six hours of electricity per day, while those in Taige, Hink, and Anggi Gida districts received 12 hours, Roberth added. “This achievement in providing 24-hour electricity in Pegunungan Arfak would not have been possible without the hard work of PLN teams overcoming challenging geography and terrain,” he said. This full 24-hour operational success is the result of field teams working tirelessly to ensure residents’ basic electricity needs are met. “To support this service improvement, we constructed a 23.75-kilometre Medium Voltage Network (JTM) and a 21.29-kilometre Low Voltage Network (JTR) connected to the power system,” he added. PLN also hopes the 24-hour electricity supply will not only provide lighting but also boost economic growth, improve education quality, and support community activities in the region. Meanwhile, Minyambouw resident Paulus expressed appreciation for PLN’s efforts, which have enabled residents to access electricity around the clock. “This electricity service improvement is a long-awaited hope for the community, now realised through PLN’s infrastructure development in Pegunungan Arfak,” he said.
