PLN Offers 50% Discount on Power Capacity Upgrades

State-owned electricity company PT PLN (Persero) is offering a 50% discount on power capacity upgrades from 14 to 27 July 2026, under a programme titled ‘Semangat Baru Makin Berdaya’.

PLN Retail and Commerce Director M. Fahrur Rozy stated that the discount programme is aimed at single-phase low-voltage customers across all tariff groups with an initial power capacity ranging from 450 volt-ampere (VA) to 5,500 VA, who wish to increase their capacity up to a maximum of 7,700 VA.

‘Through the Semangat Baru Makin Berdaya programme, PLN wants to make it easier for the public to obtain power upgrades at a lighter cost, to support children’s learning activities and various productive activities at home,’ Rozy said in a statement quoted on Friday, 17 July 2026.

Rozy explained that the programme provides an opportunity for customers to optimise their energy use through affordable power upgrades. For example, a customer with an initial capacity of 1,300 VA who wants to upgrade to 7,700 VA only needs to pay Rp3,100,800. This amount is 50 percent cheaper than the normal upgrade cost of Rp6,201,600.

To enjoy the promotion, customers simply need to make at least one token purchase for prepaid customers or one bill payment for postpaid customers via the PLN Mobile application during the promotion period. After a successful transaction, an e-voucher for the power upgrade discount will be received through the ‘Reward’ feature in PLN Mobile or sent to the registered email address.

The e-voucher code can then be used when applying for a power upgrade through the PLN Mobile application. Once payment is verified, the local PLN unit will immediately process the application in accordance with applicable regulations.

‘All processes for applying for this power upgrade discount are carried out digitally via PLN Mobile, making it practical, fast, and easily accessible to the public anywhere,’ Rozy said.

Rozy added that in this power upgrade discount programme, each PLN Mobile account can obtain a maximum of four e-vouchers during the promotion period, while each customer ID can only participate in the promotion once. The programme applies to customers who were registered before 1 July 2026 and have settled all electricity bills and other obligations. He encouraged all customers to take advantage of this short-term 50 percent power upgrade discount programme.
