PLN Launches 'Semangat Baru Makin Berdaya' Promo: 50% Discount on Electrical Power Upgrades

In conjunction with National Children’s Day and the new school year, PT PLN (Persero) is reintroducing a 50% discount programme for electrical power upgrades entitled ‘Semangat Baru Makin Berdaya’. The promotion, running from 14 July to 27 July 2026, aims to support the public’s electricity needs whilst encouraging children’s enthusiasm for learning as the new academic term begins. PLN’s Director of Retail and Commerce, M. Fahrur Rozy, stated that the programme is intended for low-voltage single-phase customers across all tariff groups with an initial capacity starting from 450 volt-amperes (VA) up to 5,500 VA who wish to increase their power to a maximum of 7,700 VA. Through this programme, PLN is providing an opportunity for customers to optimise their electrical energy usage through affordable power upgrades. Rozy explained that a customer with an initial capacity of 1,300 VA wishing to upgrade to 7,700 VA would only pay Rp3,100,800, representing a 50% saving compared to the normal upgrade fee of Rp6,201,600. To enjoy the promotion, customers simply need to complete at least one token purchase transaction for prepaid customers or a bill payment for postpaid customers via the PLN Mobile application during the promotional period. Once the transaction is successful, a discount e-voucher for the power upgrade will be received through the ‘Reward’ feature in PLN Mobile or sent to the registered email address. The e-voucher code can then be used when applying for a power upgrade through the PLN Mobile application. After payment is verified, the local PLN unit will immediately process the application in accordance with applicable regulations. Rozy added that the entire discount application process is conducted digitally via PLN Mobile, making it practical, fast, and easily accessible to the public anywhere. Each PLN Mobile account can obtain a maximum of four e-vouchers during the promotional period, with each customer ID eligible to participate once. The programme applies to customers registered before 1 July 2026 who have settled all electricity bills and other obligations. Rozy encouraged all customers to make the most of this limited-time 50% power upgrade discount to enjoy a more comfortable electricity experience with sufficient capacity to support learning and family activities at home.
