PLN Launches Power Capacity Increase Promotion During Ramadan Period

PT PLN (Persero) has launched a 50 per cent discount programme on power capacity increase fees during Ramadan 1447 Hijriyah through the “Ramadan Terang, Lebaran Tenang” initiative. The programme targets single-phase customers with initial capacity of 450 volt amperes (VA) to 5,500 VA seeking to increase capacity to 7,700 VA.

The promotion runs from 25 February to 10 March 2026 and is accessible via the PLN Mobile application. The scheme has been introduced to assist households in anticipating increased electricity demand during Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr.

Adi Priyanto, Director of Retail and Commerce at PLN, explained that household electricity consumption typically rises during the fasting month as family activities at home increase.

“During Ramadan, public electricity demand tends to increase with growing household activities. Through this programme, PLN offers convenient power capacity increases at reduced cost so that families can conduct their activities, particularly during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, without being hindered by power capacity limitations,” Adi stated in his remarks in Jakarta on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

He elaborated that customers wishing to benefit from the promotion need only purchase credit or pay their electricity bill through PLN Mobile. Upon completing the transaction, customers receive an e-voucher for power capacity increase, which can be redeemed through the promotional feature in the application.

“After receiving the e-voucher, customers can immediately submit their power capacity increase request through PLN Mobile by entering the voucher code. The subsequent connection process will be carried out by PLN staff in accordance with applicable Service Quality Standards,” Adi said.

As an illustration, a household customer with initial capacity of 450 VA seeking to increase to 7,700 VA would normally be charged a connection fee of Rp7,025,250. Through this programme, the fee is reduced to Rp3,512,625 after applying the 50 per cent discount.

“Through this initiative, we hope customers can take advantage of PLN Mobile’s digital service convenience to ensure adequate power capacity at home, so that worship activities and family gatherings during Ramadan can take place more comfortably without electrical constraints,” Adi concluded.

The programme also forms part of PLN’s broader effort to encourage the use of digital services for the public’s electricity needs. The company urges customers to ensure sufficient power capacity early to ensure smooth operations during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
