PLN Lampung introduces new technology for electrical maintenance
Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - PT PLN (Persero) Lampung Distribution Main Unit (UID) has introduced live line insulation coating technology, representing a new breakthrough in electrical distribution network maintenance.
“This technology is capable of providing additional protection to conductors against potential external disturbances on the network,” said the General Manager of PLN UID Lampung, Rizky Mochlamad, in Bandarlampung on Friday.
He stated that through a robotic application process performed online, work can be carried out while the network remains energised, thereby ensuring the continuity of the electricity supply to customers is maintained.
“The implementation of this technology is part of PLN’s transformation towards providing a distribution system that is increasingly reliable, adaptive, and customer-service oriented,” he said.
He noted that the momentum leading up to the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia serves as a reminder to continue delivering innovations that provide real benefits to the community.
“The implementation of live line insulation coating is a strategic step to increase the reliability of the distribution system without compromising customer comfort, as all work is performed without power outages,” he added.
Rizky explained that PLN UID Lampung is the unit that initiated the implementation of this technology within the PLN environment. This role began from the Proof of Concept (POC) stage, the drafting of the first contract, through to the initial field implementation.
“The trust bestowed upon us is proof of PLN UID Lampung’s commitment to delivering innovations capable of improving the quality of electrical services,” he said.
He expressed hope that this implementation would reduce the number of network disturbances, increase the reliability of the power supply, and serve as a model for modern maintenance technology that can be replicated in other PLN units.
“All implementation must continue to prioritise work safety aspects, the quality of the work results, and punctuality,” he concluded.
