PLN: Jakarta's Power System Fully Restored
PT PLN (Persero), through Senior Manager of Communication and Public Affairs for PLN UID Greater Jakarta, Haris Andika, announced that the company has successfully restored 100% of the electricity system, which had previously experienced disruptions in parts of Jakarta on Thursday, 23 April 2026, around 10:25 WIB.
“PLN continues to strive to strengthen the reliability of the electricity system and extends apologies for the inconvenience caused,” Haris said on Thursday, 23 April 2026.
He explained that the majority of affected customers had their electricity supply restored by 12:23 WIB, while the remaining approximately 5% were restored by 15:05 WIB.
He described that the electricity system in the Jakarta and surrounding areas is supported by 76 substations. Of these, 13 substations were temporarily affected by the power supply disruption.
“For customers needing information and PLN services, they can access the PLN Mobile application or the PLN Contact Centre at 123,” he stated.
It is known that prior to this, an electricity system disruption occurred in several areas of DKI Jakarta on Thursday morning, 23 April 2026, which became a hot topic among netizens on social media.
When contacted, Senior Manager of Communication and Public Affairs for PLN UID Greater Jakarta, Haris Andika, assured that PT PLN (Persero) is currently working to restore the electricity system from the disruption that occurred in parts of Jakarta since 10:25 WIB.
“Gradually, the normalisation of electricity supply is being carried out by PLN both in the control system and in the field, since the disruption first occurred,” Haris said when contacted by Viva on Thursday, 23 April 2026.
“Our technical team is currently conducting intensive handling to restore the entire electricity system,” he added.
Parallel to the restoration process, Haris also said that PLN is currently investigating the source of the disruption that occurred. He added that PLN urges the public to remain calm and not be influenced by unaccountable information.
“At present, all personnel are on standby and striving to ensure that the electricity supply returns to normal as soon as possible,” Haris said.
“PLN will provide periodic updates on the restoration process of the electricity system through the PLN Mobile application and Contact Centre 123,” he stated.
