PT PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP) is ensuring electricity reliability in North Sumatra ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

“We are ensuring all equipment and personnel are in ready condition to maintain the reliability of electricity supply in North Sumatra, particularly during the Ramadan period through Eid al-Fitr,” said PLN Indonesia Power Chief Executive Director Bernadus Sudarmanta in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

He expressed appreciation for the improved performance of the Pangkalan Susu Generation Business Unit (UBP) in North Sumatra throughout 2025, which has demonstrated positive trends in both reliability and operational performance.

Bernadus also provided support to the operators tasked with maintaining the reliability of the power generation unit.

“This positive performance reflects the solidity and strong team collaboration,” he stated during the “Electrical Preparedness Inspection and Ramadan Safari” activity at UBP Pangkalan Susu on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

The visit was also attended by Chief Commissioner and Independent Commissioner Arief Budiman and Independent Commissioner Anthony Leong.

During the activity, management conducted direct inspections of the power generation area to ensure equipment readiness, spare parts availability, monitoring system optimisation, and personnel preparedness during the alert period.

This step represents part of the company’s preventive efforts to maintain the reliability of electricity supply for communities, particularly in the North Sumatra region.

Chief Commissioner Arief Budiman emphasised the importance of two-way communication as the foundation of corporate transformation.

“Transformation is not only about technology and performance achievements, but also about openness in expressing aspirations. Strong collaboration is born from honest and constructive communication,” Arief said.

Meanwhile, during the activity, through PLN Indonesia Power Care, the company distributed assistance to orphans and the underprivileged around the Pangkalan Susu UBP.

In line with Ramadan activities, the Maintenance Business Unit (UBH) of PLN Indonesia Power distributed assistance to an orphanage and shelter for the underprivileged in Petamburan, Jakarta.

Bernadus added that through this series of electrical preparedness activities and Ramadan social actions, the company is reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the reliability of the national electricity supply whilst actively contributing to the welfare of communities.

“This commitment aligns with the company’s values in delivering superior performance that has a tangible impact for the nation,” he said.
