PLN Indonesia Power Unit Bisnis Pembangkitan (UBP) Bali planted 1,000 trees in the Sandan Bamboo Forest area, Tabanan Regency. The event, held to commemorate Earth Day, was also accompanied by the construction of a clean water distribution system to support the environment and the community.

The programme is part of Green Action 2026, which focuses on environmental conservation and community empowerment. The planting involved the Wana Kerta Lestari Forest Farmers Group, as well as local government and related agencies.

The 1,000 seedlings planted consisted of bamboo, longan, guava, jackfruit, nutmeg, and banyan trees. The planting was aimed at maintaining soil and water conservation while providing economic value to the community.

A representative of UBP Bali’s management, I Dewa Gede Agung Putra Prayadnya, stated that this activity is not merely symbolic. “The Earth Day commemoration is not just ceremonial, but a manifestation of commitment to preserving the environment while supporting community welfare,” he said in a press release on Monday (27/4/2026).

In addition to tree planting, PLN IP inaugurated a clean water distribution system from a spring source to the forest area. The infrastructure built includes pipeline networks, electric pumps, a pump house, and a storage tank.

This programme is expected to support sustainable water utilisation for the needs of the forest, agriculture, and residents’ settlements.

“We believe that cross-sector collaboration is key. This programme not only focuses on greening but also on empowering the community to manage natural resources independently and sustainably,” said Agung.
