PLN Introduces Modern Electricity Ecosystem in Papua
PLN’s Papua and West Papua Regional Unit is continuously introducing a modern electricity ecosystem in the region as part of efforts to promote an electrifying lifestyle among the local population. Roberth Rumsaur, General Manager of PLN’s Papua and West Papua Regional Unit, stated in Jayapura on Thursday that the electrifying lifestyle is a modern way of life encouraging communities to switch to electric-powered appliances and vehicles to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. ‘Residents in Papua can begin adopting this culture in daily life by using electric-powered devices such as induction cookers, rice cookers, electric ovens, air fryers, and electric vehicles,’ he said. According to Roberth, this electrifying lifestyle is not just a trend but a strategic step to support development and improve the welfare of Papua’s residents. He explained that transitioning to electricity also helps reduce carbon emissions and preserve Papua’s pristine natural environment. ‘We are also ensuring the electricity infrastructure in Papua and West Papua is ready to support the implementation of the electrifying lifestyle,’ he added. ‘All electric vehicle charging stations are integrated with the PLN Mobile app, enabling residents to easily locate charging points and independently recharge their vehicles,’ he added.
