PLN Indonesia Power Wins 2026 Energy Executive Award
JAKARTA – PLN Indonesia Power has once again received prestigious recognition for its role in accelerating the national energy transition. Bernadus Sudarmanta, President Director of PLN Indonesia Power, won the Energy Executive Award 2026 with the title ‘Strategic Leader in Driving Green Energy Innovation’.
The award was given in appreciation of his strategic leadership in accelerating the transformation of the power generation sector through the development of new renewable energy, low-carbon technology innovation, and strengthening of the green energy ecosystem in support of the national energy transition agenda.
Eddy Soeparno, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) for the 2024–2029 period, emphasised that leadership is a key factor in realising the transformation of the national energy sector. According to him, Indonesia needs more leaders capable of driving innovation, accelerating the development of clean energy, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration so that energy transition targets can be achieved sustainably.
‘Indonesia needs energy leaders who are not only able to maintain the reliability of energy supply, but who also possess a long-term vision in driving green energy innovation. The Energy Executive Award 2026 provides a space to appreciate leaders who dare to carry out transformation, build collaboration, and deliver clean energy solutions that support national energy security and Indonesia’s energy transition targets,’ Eddy said in a statement on Tuesday (28 July).
PLN Indonesia Power has indeed continued to strengthen its position as the power generation sub-holding of PT PLN (Persero) by introducing various innovations, ranging from the development of new renewable energy power plants, biomass co-firing implementation, green hydrogen technology development, to the use of digitalisation to improve the efficiency and reliability of its generating assets.
All of these initiatives form part of the company’s contribution to supporting Indonesia’s Net Zero Emissions target and realising an electricity system that is reliable, clean, and sustainable.
Bernadus Sudarmanta, President Director of PLN Indonesia Power, said the award is both a trust and a motivation for everyone at PLN Indonesia Power to continue delivering innovations that benefit the public and national energy security.

He added that PLN Indonesia Power will continue to accelerate the implementation of various strategic programmes that support the national energy mix, increase the utilisation of new renewable energy, and develop low-carbon innovations as part of the company’s transformation towards becoming a sustainable world-class energy company.
The title ‘Strategic Leader in Driving Green Energy Innovation’ affirms recognition of Bernadus Sudarmanta’s leadership in steering the company’s strategy not only to maintain the reliability of the national electricity system, but also to serve as one of the driving forces behind Indonesia’s energy transition.
