PLN EPI Holds Environmental Education for 100 Orphans and Underprivileged Children

PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (PLN EPI), through the PLN EPI Baitul Maal Foundation (YBM), has organised environmental education for 100 orphans and underprivileged children. PLN EPI Corporate Secretary Mamit Setiawan stated that the activity was structured as a visit to the Cibubur Bee Park in West Java, as part of efforts to broaden horizons while cultivating environmental awareness from an early age. Through this activity, participants were introduced to the important role of bees in maintaining ecosystem balance, understanding the honey cultivation process, and learning about various types of bees, including Apis mellifera, Apis cerana, and Trigona, along with their characteristics and benefits for the environment. The learning was packaged interactively so that the children could learn directly from nature through an enjoyable experience. Mamit added that the activity is part of YBM PLN EPI’s commitment to delivering social programmes that are not only oriented towards providing assistance but also encourage improvements in the quality of education and character building for the younger generation. He explained that through this educational tour, the orphans and underprivileged children not only gained new knowledge about the environment but were also expected to be motivated to continue learning, love nature, and become a generation that cares about environmental sustainability. According to Mamit, all YBM PLN EPI programmes are a mandate from the zakat, infak, and sedekah collected from PLN EPI employees and distributed to provide wider benefits to the community. The trust given by the employees serves as motivation for YBM PLN EPI to continue delivering programmes with real impact. Additionally, in conjunction with the 10th of Muharram 1448 Hijriah, known as the Orphans’ Eid, YBM PLN EPI distributed aid to 40 orphans and underprivileged children. Through this aid activity, YBM PLN EPI affirmed its commitment to continue being a bridge of goodness through the professional, transparent, and targeted management of zakat, infak, and sedekah, thereby providing sustainable benefits for the community.
