“Peace is not merely the absence of war. It is a virtue,” wrote the philosopher Baruch Spinoza.

PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (PLN EPI) is strengthening its commitment to improving the quality of human resources through the Health Talk programme titled Develop New Awareness for Mind-Body Integration & Career Growth (Dynamic). The event, held on Tuesday (31/3), was attended by all employees of the PLN EPI Group.

The programme forms part of the company’s ongoing efforts to build awareness of the importance of balancing physical and mental health, particularly amid increasingly complex work demands. In the inaugural session, PLN EPI addressed the theme “Smart Eating, Healthy Living, Productivity Starts Within,” which emphasises that productivity begins with a healthy body and mind.

Director of Human Capital Management and Administration at PLN EPI, Dedeng Hidayat, stated that optimal work performance cannot be separated from the balance between physical and mental health, especially following the Eid al-Fitr period, which often involves changes in eating patterns and activities.

“Sustainable performance is not only determined by hard work, but also by a healthy body and a stable mind. Maintaining balance between work and health is now a necessity,” said Dedeng.

He also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuously providing spaces for learning and reflection for employees to build a healthy and sustainable work culture.

During the event, PLN EPI featured speaker Gia Pratama Putra, who highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle in preventing serious diseases. He explained that illnesses such as heart disease and stroke remain the leading causes of death in Indonesia, closely linked to modern lifestyles, including overeating, lack of rest, and high work stress.

According to him, unhealthy blood vessels are the root of many such diseases, making lifestyle changes a crucial step for prevention. He also warned that habits like overeating, overworking, and insufficient sleep can trigger serious health issues that directly impact work productivity.

“Small changes made consistently, such as maintaining a healthy diet, managing stress, and getting enough sleep, can have a significant impact on health,” he explained.

Through the Dynamic programme, PLN EPI hopes that the activity will not only serve as an educational forum but also encourage behavioural changes among employees towards a healthier lifestyle. The programme is also expected to reinforce awareness that health is the primary foundation for supporting individual performance and the company’s sustainability.

Looking ahead, PLN EPI will continue the programme with various relevant themes to enhance the quality of life, welfare, and productivity of employees.

PLN EPI believes that healthy employees are not only a vital asset to the company but also the key to maintaining sustainable performance and delivering the best energy for society.
