PLN Ensures Electricity Supply for MotoGP Mandalika 2026 via Multi-layered Scheme
PT PLN (Persero) continues to strengthen its electricity supply readiness to support the smooth running of the 2026 MotoGP Mandalika, one of the international racing events attracting global attention. Through a multi-layered power supply scheme, PLN’s Dwipantara Generation Business Unit (UIK) is working to ensure that all power plants supporting the Lombok System and the Mandalika Circuit are in optimal condition and ready to operate to maintain supply reliability throughout the event.
In addition to ensuring the readiness of power plants supporting the Lombok System, PLN UIK Dwipantara is also preparing power plants with a total supply capacity of 4 megawatts (MW) specifically located at the Mandalika Circuit site to support the area’s electricity supply. This step is part of PLN’s efforts to strengthen system reliability while providing maximum support for the organisation of international events in Indonesia.
General Manager of PLN UIK Dwipantara, Rita Triani, stated that power plant readiness is one of the main foundations in maintaining electrical reliability during the MotoGP Mandalika event.
“MotoGP Mandalika is an international event that brings Indonesia’s name to the world stage. Therefore, we are striving to ensure that all power plants supporting the Lombok System are in optimal condition, supported by operational readiness, maintenance, and alert personnel so that the entire MotoGP series can proceed smoothly,” said Rita, as quoted from a written statement on Thursday (10/09/2026).
To support this state of readiness, PLN UIK Dwipantara is deploying 112 personnel to oversee plant operations and reliability. Personnel are stationed at strategic points to perform monitoring, operational control, and rapid response if needed during the MotoGP alert period.
Rita added that this readiness is part of PLN’s commitment to supporting various national strategic agendas while ensuring the people of Lombok receive reliable electricity services.
“We are not only maintaining electricity for an event, but also bringing the spirit of Indonesian service. From the power plant engine rooms to the Mandalika Circuit, PLN personnel will remain on alert to keep the energy flowing to ensure the success of MotoGP Mandalika 2026,” added Rita.
Currently, the Lombok electricity system has a total supply capacity of 412 megawatts (MW), with a power reserve of 79 MW. Consequently, the power supply in the Lombok electricity system remains sufficient.
