Electricity tariffs per kWh for the week of 26-31 May 2026 have been confirmed unchanged, with current rates still based on second quarter 2026 pricing. Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Tri Winarno, stated that maintaining electricity tariffs involved multiple considerations, particularly current economic conditions. βThe government has set electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 to remain unchanged. This decision aims to safeguard public purchasing power,β Tri said in a statement on Monday, 16 March 2026. Under the regulation, non-subsidised electricity tariffs are evaluated every three months. Tariff adjustments are based on several macroeconomic indicators, including the rupiah exchange rate, Indonesia Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and reference coal price (HBA). In addition to safeguarding purchasing power, the policy also supports industrial competitiveness amid global economic uncertainty. What is the latest electricity tariff per kWh in effect? Prepaid customers must purchase tokens before use, while postpaid customers settle bills after consumption within the stipulated period.
