Surabaya, East Java – PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) East Java has officially launched Coreboost 2.0: Collaborative Revenue Boost to strengthen integrated electricity business growth and beyond kWh initiatives across the province.

“Coreboost 2.0 is a collaborative business transformation strategy by the PLN Group,” said PLN (Persero) Director of Legal & Human Capital Yusuf Didi Setiarto in Surabaya on Friday.

He added that this move is a concrete step by PLN to address the energy industry’s challenges by 2026 while supporting national clean energy transition, industrial downstreaming, and investment acceleration agendas.

During the launch, PLN signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the banking and automotive sectors to accelerate the development of East Java’s electric vehicle ecosystem.

Yusuf praised PLN UID East Java for creating tangible synergies between PLN Group, banking, automotive, and other strategic stakeholders.

“The aim of Coreboost 2.0 is to drive more adaptive business transformation to meet customer needs,” he said.

PLN East Java UID General Manager Ahmad Mustaqir explained that Coreboost 2.0 marks a milestone in strengthening synergies between PLN Group affiliates, Sole Distributors (ATPM), and the banking sector to deliver adaptive, innovative, and customer-focused energy services.

He stated that Coreboost 2.0 is a concrete step to accelerate business growth through strong collaboration, agile services, and integrated solutions that add value for customers.

“PLN is not merely an electricity provider but also a partner in energy and business solutions,” Mustaqir said.

The Coreboost 2.0 programme focuses on developing integrated business solutions encompassing electricity sales, beyond-kWh services, green energy development, digital connectivity, asset optimisation, operational efficiency, and accelerating the electric vehicle ecosystem.

The strategy is reinforced through Priority Account Executive approaches, digital service optimisation, and Customer Relationship Management-based monitoring.

Mustaqir said the efforts are part of PLN’s push to accelerate East Java’s electric vehicle ecosystem, which continues to show positive trends.

By end-2025, East Java’s electric vehicle population is projected to reach approximately 24,500 units, with PLN UID East Java having deployed 302 public EV charging stations across 162 strategic locations.

Beyond EV ecosystem development, Coreboost 2.0 also opens opportunities for other PLN Group affiliate business services.

These include Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), rooftop solar PV systems, engineering services, energy management, internet connectivity, and asset management.

PLN UID East Java is confident Coreboost 2.0 will drive faster, more adaptive, and sustainable business growth while strengthening PLN Group’s role as an integrated energy solutions provider during the national energy transition.

The cross-sector collaboration under this initiative is expected to generate a multiplier effect for industrial growth, investment acceleration, and EV ecosystem development.

“We aim to strengthen national energy resilience based on clean energy and customer-focused services,” Mustaqir said.
