Behind the lights that remain on as citizens celebrate Eid al-Fitr, dedicated staff continue their vigilant work. PT PLN (Persero) has mobilised hundreds of personnel to maintain the reliability of electricity supply during the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

Arsyadany G. Akmalaputri, Director of Distribution at PT PLN (Persero), emphasised in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday that the reliability of electricity during the Eid holiday period depends on the dedication of field personnel.

“PLN ensures all operational lines are on full alert. Behind the electricity that remains on when the community celebrates Eid al-Fitr, there are staff who remain on duty,” she said.

To ensure performance, she conducted inspections of several strategic substations in the Semarang, Salatiga and Solo regions.

“We are committed to maintaining the reliability of supply so that people can celebrate safely and comfortably,” she added.

The activity began with an inspection of the 500 kV GITET Ungaran in Semarang Regency, Tuesday, which is one of PLN’s strategic assets and a national vital facility.

At the location, she directly spoke with personnel who work in rotating shifts over 24 hours to ensure the system remains reliable even during the Eid holiday alert period.

The visit continued to the 150 kV Bringin Substation and the 150 kV Jajar Substation, which form the backbone of electricity supply in the Salatiga and Solo regions.

Behind the high-voltage equipment, she noted, personnel remain on alert conducting monitoring, security and rapid response to potential disruptions, even during the extended holiday period.

During the visit, face-to-face meetings were held with the operational team to ensure the readiness of personnel, equipment and alert procedures.

Additionally, direct inspections of equipment conditions and disruption mitigation measures were conducted to maintain continuity of electricity supply.

Meanwhile, Handy Wihartady, General Manager of PLN’s Central Java Transmission Division, stated that the presence of the directorate provides special encouragement to staff who remain on duty during the Eid holiday period.

“The substation personnel greatly appreciate the Distribution Director’s visit. This demonstrates management’s attention to electricity reliability down to the operational level at the substations,” he said.

According to him, the activity is part of PLN’s effort to ensure that all distribution systems and substations are in a prepared, reliable and responsive condition.

It also reaffirms that behind the comfort of citizens enjoying electricity during Eid, there is the dedication of personnel working tirelessly.

He reiterated PLN’s commitment to continue maintaining the reliability of electricity supply through the readiness of personnel, equipment and layered security systems so that people can celebrate Eid al-Fitr peacefully and with joy.
