PLN Deploys 72,053 Personnel to Ensure Electricity Reliability During Eid al-Fitr 1447 H
PT PLN (Persero) has prepared 72,053 personnel to safeguard the reliability of the national electricity supply ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. This was stated by the President Director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, during the National Electricity Roll Call attended by all PLN Group standby personnel across the country.
The roll call was held in a hybrid format at the PLN Main Unit for Load Dispatching Centre for Java, Madura, and Bali (UIP2B Jamali) office in Depok, West Java, on Thursday (19/3). Darmawan explained that the current national electricity system is in a safe and controlled status to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.
“The electricity system, praise be to God, is running safely and in prime condition. The peak load is estimated at around 35 GW (gigawatts) with a supply capacity of more than 51 GW, so the system is very secure. The availability of primary energy, including coal, fuel oil, and gas, is also well maintained,” he said, quoted from a written statement on Friday (20/3/2026).
With this capacity, the national electricity system has sufficient power reserves to maintain system reliability during the Eid period.
Furthermore, Darmawan emphasised that the readiness of personnel during the standby period from 12 to 31 March 2026 serves as the frontline in ensuring the smooth supply of electricity. To that end, 72,053 personnel are distributed across 4,137 posts throughout the country and are on standby 24 hours non-stop.
“PLN personnel across Indonesia remain on alert. During the long holiday period, we continue to work in the field to maintain the reliability of the electricity supply. We also ensure that vital facilities and Eid worship activities run smoothly,” he explained.
These personnel are also supported by operational vehicles consisting of 4,901 cars and 4,594 motorcycles, as well as various supporting equipment such as 2,005 genset units, 773 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, 1,349 mobile substations (UGB), and 429 cranes for layered security.
According to him, this readiness is the result of synergy among all PLN Group personnel, prepared well in advance, covering the sufficiency of primary energy, readiness of power plants, to the resilience of transmission and distribution networks.
In addition to maintaining the reliability of the electricity supply, PLN is also strengthening support for electric vehicle users. PLN has prepared 4,769 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) spread across 3,097 locations throughout the country.
To strengthen charging services during the homecoming flow, PLN has also prepared emergency services in the form of mobile SPKLU.
“We also provide 15 mobile SPKLU units. If there are issues with running out of power during the journey, the public can contact us via WhatsApp at 08777 111 2123. We are ready to serve homecoming travellers using electric vehicles so that the homecoming journey remains smooth,” he explained.
In closing, Darmawan reaffirmed PLN’s commitment to continue delivering the best services during the Eid al-Fitr moment.
“Eid al-Fitr is a sacred moment for Muslims. We remain on alert to provide the best services so that the public can celebrate Eid al-Fitr with reverence, warmth, and full togetherness, with reliable electricity,” Darmawan concluded.
