PLN cuts charges over power outage

DEPOK: State electricity company PLN Depok branch manager Hari Suhana said on Monday that his company would give a 10 percent reduction to Depok customers' bills for the power cut on Aug. 18.

"We will automatically cut 10 percent of the charges that customers are supposed to pay this month," Hari was quoted by Tempointeraktif.com as saying on Monday.

He said total compensation for 385,000 customers in the municipality reached Rp 255 million (US$25,000).

The power cut, which affected most areas in the municipality, meant PLN had suffered losses of Rp 500 million, he said. --JP
