PLN Customers in West Java Can Enjoy 50 Percent Discount on Power Capacity Upgrades
Customers of PT PLN (Persero) in West Java have the opportunity to enjoy a 50 percent discount on electricity capacity upgrade fees through the ‘Merdeka Daya’ programme. The promotion, launched nationally by PLN to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, runs until 25 August 2026.
“The Merdeka Daya programme is a form of appreciation from PLN to customers in the momentum of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. We invite the people of West Java who need additional electricity capacity to take advantage of this opportunity because the cost of upgrading capacity becomes more affordable,” said Senior Manager of Communication and General Affairs at PLN West Java Distribution Unit, Krisantus H. Setiawan.
He explained that through this promotion, customers can obtain a discount of up to 50 percent on capacity upgrade fees, applicable to low-voltage single-phase customers from all tariff groups, with initial capacity from 450 VA to 5,500 VA and capacity additions up to a maximum of 7,700 VA. As an illustration, a customer with an initial capacity of 450 Volt Ampere (VA) who wishes to increase capacity to 7,700 VA only needs to pay Rp 3,512,625 from the normal price of Rp 7,025,250.
Customers eligible for this programme must have been registered as PLN customers before 1 August 2026 and have settled all electricity bills and other obligations.
“To obtain the promotion, customers simply need to make at least one purchase of electricity tokens or payment of electricity bills through the PLN Mobile application during the promotion period. After the transaction is successful, customers will receive an e-voucher for the capacity upgrade discount that can be used to apply for a capacity upgrade through PLN Mobile,” said Krisantus.
The entire process can be carried out practically through PLN Mobile. After completing the transaction, customers can obtain an e-voucher and use it when applying for a capacity upgrade, so customers do not need to visit a PLN office to obtain this promotion.
Each PLN Mobile account can obtain a maximum of four e-vouchers, with the provision that each Customer ID can only use the promotion once. E-vouchers can be claimed through the “Claim Voucher” feature on the capacity upgrade promotion banner in the PLN Mobile application.
Krisantus added that the increase in electricity capacity is expected to provide greater room for the public to meet growing electricity needs, ranging from the use of household electronic devices to supporting productivity and business activities.
“The public’s electricity needs continue to grow along with activities and the use of various electricity-based devices. With more adequate power capacity, we hope customers can use electricity more comfortably and productively. Therefore, we invite customers in West Java to take advantage of the Merdeka Daya promotion before it ends on 25 August 2026,” said Krisantus.
The Merdeka Daya programme does not cover changes to the distribution network, phase changes, tariff group changes, or changes in service type. The promotion also cannot be combined with other connection fee promotions.
