PLN Confirms No Electricity Tariff Increase for April-June 2026
PT PLN (Persero) has emphasised that there will be no increase in electricity tariffs for the April-June 2026 period. The company ensured that electricity rates remain in accordance with government regulations established through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and have not changed compared to the previous period.
This clarification follows widespread information on social media regarding complaints from some customers concerning rising electricity bills. PLN explained that an increase in bill amounts is not always related to changes in electricity tariffs.
“PLN consistently implements electricity tariff policies as determined by the Government through the Ministry of ESDM. For the April-June 2026 period, electricity tariffs remain fixed and have not undergone any changes from the previous period,” stated Gregorius Adi Trianto, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and CSR at PT PLN (Persero), in a statement to Republika.co.id on Tuesday (2/6/2026).
PLN explained that the higher bills experienced by some customers may be influenced by changes in household energy consumption patterns. Increased electricity usage directly impacts the total amount customers are required to pay.
The company noted several factors that could drive higher electricity consumption, ranging from weather conditions and higher air temperatures to increased household activities. Such conditions generally lead to more intensive use of various electronic appliances.
“The increase in electricity bills felt by some customers may be influenced by changes in electricity consumption patterns due to several factors, such as weather conditions, rising temperatures, and increased household activities, which lead to increased daily use of electrical appliances,” said Gregorius.
To assist customers in understanding their usage patterns, PLN provides a monitoring service via the PLN Mobile application. This feature allows customers to independently check their token purchase history and bill payments. Customers can access the PLN Mobile app, select the ‘Token and Payment’ menu, and add their customer ID if not already registered. Postpaid customers can access the ‘Usage History’ menu, while prepaid customers can view their ‘Token Purchase History’.
Through this feature, customers can monitor changes in electricity consumption over time and manage energy usage more efficiently. PLN also advises the public to check electrical installations regularly and unplug unused electronic devices to keep electricity consumption under control.
