PLN Confirms Gandul-Cirendeu Power Disruption Restored, Supply Back to Normal
PT PLN (Persero) Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit (UID) has confirmed that the power supply disruption from the Gandul Substation (GI) towards Cirendeu, which occurred in the early hours of Monday (3/8/2026), has been restored. Electricity supply to all customers returned to normal from 07.00 WIB.
Haris Andika, Senior Manager of Communication and General Affairs at PLN UID Jakarta Raya, said the disruption began at 04.59 WIB. PLN’s team immediately ensured technical safety before beginning the restoration process at 05.14 WIB.
“The power supply disruption from the Gandul Substation towards Cirendeu has been successfully resolved. Electricity supply to all customers returned to normal at 07.00 WIB,” Haris said in Jakarta on Monday (3/8/2026).
Previously, a number of areas in South Jakarta and South Tangerang experienced power cuts on Monday morning. PLN stated that the supply disruption from GI Gandul towards Cirendeu, which occurred at 04.59 WIB, affected electricity supply in several areas.
At the time, Haris said PLN was focusing its efforts on normalising the system, while the cause of the disruption was still being investigated. Updates on electricity services were also communicated through the PLN Mobile application and the PLN 123 Contact Centre.
One resident of Ciputat, South Tangerang, Ani (40), said the electricity at her home went off at around 05.00 WIB and only came back on at 07.00 WIB.
“The power only came back on at 7 this morning,” she said.
Indira, a resident of Pamulang in South Tangerang, also reported hearing the sound of an explosion from the direction of the PLN Gandul Substation when the disruption occurred.
PLN apologised for the inconvenience experienced by customers and urged members of the public still facing electricity service issues to report them promptly via the PLN Mobile application or the PLN 123 Contact Centre.
