PLN Confirms 100% Electrification in Rejang Lebong Regency

State-owned electricity company PLN has confirmed that all villages and sub-districts in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, have now been fully electrified. Novian Parlindo Putra, Manager of PLN’s Curup Customer Service Unit (ULP), stated that the service coverage has reached all 122 villages and 34 sub-districts across the regency’s 15 districts. ‘All villages and sub-districts in Rejang Lebong Regency have had 100 per cent access to electricity for the past few years,’ Novian said following a meeting at the Rejang Lebong Regent’s Office on Tuesday. Although all villages are connected, he noted that a few hamlets remain underserved, including Dusun Palembang Kecil in Sindang Beliti Ulu District, due to difficult terrain. He expressed optimism that the network expansion to these isolated settlements could be completed this year, aided by increased infrastructure support from the local government. Beyond network access, Novian outlined PLN’s contribution to local revenue through the Street Lighting Tax, which amounts to approximately 10 per cent of total customer electricity bills paid into the regional treasury. Meanwhile, Acting Regent of Rejang Lebong, Hendri Praja, commended the synergy with PLN Curup in supporting equitable development and committed to facilitating the smooth expansion of electricity access to remote areas. He expressed hope that the established cooperation would be further strengthened to optimise electricity services for the community and support development in Rejang Lebong Regency.
