PLN clarifies
From Warta Kota
In response to a news story published in Warta Kota of April
30, 2001 under the title of PLN stops increase of power capacity
to poor subscribers, allow us to clarify as follows:
On April 30, 2001, a subscriber living somewhere in Utan Kayu
made an application for a power capacity increase from 450 VA to
900 VA. The officer in charge suggested that he complete a form
so that he could be added to the waiting list in the state
electricity company's (PLN) Rawamangun office. Unfortunately, he
did not do so because he did want to wait or be included on the
waiting list.
It must be understood that PLN has only limited capacity to
fulfill the demands for power capacity increases in the category
of subscribers with 450VA/900VA capacity. Applicants must
therefore be patient. In 2001 alone there are 31 such requests
while 69 subscribers are still on the waiting list up to
December, 2000.
PLN has tried to act wisely towards all subscribers and has
never intended to practice discrimination when rendering services
to anybody in any situation.
Therefore, we would like to call on all subscribers to
directly contact the officer in charge when they need a
particular service from PLN. Brokers must be avoided as otherwise
you might create your own problems.
