PT PLN has ensured that the availability of energy for national electricity needs is in a safe condition until April 2026. PLN’s President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, stated that the national average Days of Coal Operation (HOP) for coal reaches 15.90 days. “This reflects a safe coal supply condition. For this reason, we appreciate the support from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) so that the HOP coal trend continues to show improvement, and this is certainly in order to strengthen the reliability of the national electricity supply,” said Darmawan during a Hearing with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Monday (13/4/2026). Sumatra reaches 16.23 days. Nusa Tenggara is at 14.59 days. Kalimantan records 22.47 days. Sulawesi is at 13.12 days. Ternate and Tidore reach 27.28 days. Papua records the highest level at 47.95 days. PLN’s Director of Generation Management, Rizal Calvary Marimbo, stated that the coal supply for steam power plants has been secured until the end of the year. Coal contracts have increased from around 152 million tonnes to 163 million tonnes. This addition comes from large miners, as well as new contracts with small and medium-scale miners. “Even now, we have already received RKAB commitments of 160 million. From the initial around 152 (million tonnes), now it has become 163 (million tonnes). So, InsyaAllah, it will be safe,” said Rizal. “Because this is an obligation, a mandatory requirement,” added Rizal.
