Jakarta (ANTARA) - PLN (Persero) President Director Darmawan Prasodjo has urged the Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN) to strengthen its role as a globally competitive energy transition campus.

This was conveyed during the Halal Bihalal for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah and Thanksgiving for the 28th Anniversary of ITPLN, themed “Purify the Heart, Strengthen the ENERGI+ Culture,” on Wednesday (1/4).

“At this increasing age, may ITPLN further strengthen its role as a centre for education and development of globally competitive electrical power technology, in line with the vision to become a leading higher education institution that contributes to sustainable energy development,” said Darmawan in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Darmawan also emphasised the importance of ITPLN’s role in producing the next generation capable of addressing future energy sector challenges. According to him, the campus must continue to be the birthplace of talents that can illuminate the nation’s future.

Meanwhile, ITPLN Rector Iwa Garniwa stated that the direct remarks from the PLN CEO are a source of pride and a challenge for the entire academic community.

Therefore, Iwa invited all ITPLN ranks to use the momentum of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr as a starting point to strengthen commitment.

According to him, the spirit of togetherness and mutual forgiveness must be followed by determination to improve institutional quality.

In his reflection, Iwa likened ITPLN’s age of 28 years to an educational journey almost reaching the doctoral level (S3). He is optimistic that within the next year, ITPLN can advance to become a higher education institution with international standards.

Through this Eid al-Fitr and 28th Anniversary momentum, Iwa hopes that ITPLN can accelerate its transformation into a leading campus in the energy sector, in line with the national energy transition agenda.
