PLN CEO: Layered electricity security for State Palace during 81st Independence Day

Depok, West Java - President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo has prepared a layered electricity security system at the State Palace to support the smooth running of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony.

In a virtual press conference on Electricity Alertness for the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at PLN UIP2B Jamali, Depok, West Java, in the early hours of Sunday, Darmawan said PLN is implementing five layers of security, from power plants, substations, and transmission to feeders.

“Specifically for the celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace, we have prepared layered security up to five levels. This covers generation, substations, and transmission,” Darmawan said.

The layered security is being implemented to ensure that electricity supply remains reliable throughout the event.

In addition to the main system, PLN has also prepared uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units and backup generators as a precautionary measure in the event of disruption to the main network.

“We have prepared this well so that we can provide electricity without a flicker, with the hope of ensuring that the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day at the State Palace can also run smoothly,” he said.

Darmawan confirmed that all electrical equipment has been thoroughly inspected to ensure it is in prime condition before the state ceremony takes place.

The generation, transmission, substation, and distribution teams are working in an integrated manner to ensure that all electricity infrastructure is ready to support activities in the State Palace area.

PLN has deployed full standby personnel throughout the series of events marking the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia to maintain the reliability of the system without any power flickers.

The layered security measure is part of PLN’s commitment to providing reliable electricity services for all state events.

Darmawan also called on the public to provide support and prayers so that all tasks related to securing the national electricity system proceed smoothly according to plan.

PLN is optimistic that the readiness of personnel, equipment, and backup systems will be able to maintain the smooth supply of electricity so that the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia is a success.

“For that reason, once again we ask for the prayers of all Indonesian people so that we can carry out this task well,” Darmawan said.
