Jakarta – PT PLN (Persero) CEO Darmawan Prasodjo stated that two large power plants in Java owned by PLN’s partners had experienced technical issues. He said his team immediately deployed personnel to carry out repairs. Currently, one of the two power plants has been restored. “Last week we immediately deployed a PLN team together with our partners to carry out repairs, and there is good news: last night one large power plant was successfully restored,” Darmawan told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Monday, 22 June 2026. “And it has been synchronised with the electricity system in Java and has started supplying power to the Java system,” he continued. Darmawan also expressed his appreciation to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia for the direction given to PLN. He pledged that improvements to the governance of the primary energy supply chain and the reinforcement of power plants, both those owned by PLN and independent power producers (IPP), will continue. “We are also improving the governance of the primary energy supply chain and strengthening power plants, both those owned by PLN and those owned by our partners, the independent power producers. We are making all-out efforts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, both in monitoring and mapping all our efforts, so that the reliability of the electricity system in Java can be maintained and even improved,” Darmawan concluded.
