PLN Central Java ensures secure power supply during Eid holiday

Semarang (ANTARA) — PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Central Java has ensured that the electrical system in the region is in a safe and reliable condition during the Ramadhan alert period and Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH.

General Manager PLN UID Central Java Bramantyo Anggun Pambudi, in Semarang on Thursday, stated that the peak load projection stands at 3,866 megawatts (MW).

He noted that the electrical system has supply capacity of 7,203 MW, providing a power reserve of 3,337 MW or a “reserve margin” of 46.33 per cent, which is sufficient to maintain reliable power supply during the Eid holiday period.

In addition to maintaining system reliability, PLN UID Central Java is also securing power supply at 296 priority locations that are expected to experience increased public activity during Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr.

To maintain this reliability, PLN UID Central Java has prepared 3,888 standby personnel consisting of 3,440 outsourced workers, 358 PLN employees, and 90 personnel trained in High-Voltage Work Procedures (PDKB).

According to him, all personnel are on standby to ensure that electrical service remains optimal and to expedite the handling of any disruptions in the field.

This readiness is also supported by various operational equipment, including 99 standby posts, 84 generator units, 43 UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) units, 141 mobile substations (UGB), 284 operational vehicles, and 403 operational motorcycles distributed across various operational areas of PLN UID Central Java.
