Yayasan Baitul Maal PLN Unit Induk Wilayah Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, together with Rumah Sehat Baznas Pangkalpinang, is providing free healthcare services to a number of mustahik living in remote areas. “This is our commitment to delivering tangible benefits to the community through free healthcare services, implemented via the Mobile Health Unit and home care services targeting residents with limited access,” said General Manager of PLN UIW Babel, Ira Savitri, in a statement received in Pangkalpinang on Monday. Through this programme, the community receives medical examinations, consultations, health education, and medication according to indications from healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. Additionally, YBM PLN Babel provides home care services for individuals unable to visit health facilities, such as the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, and patients with physical limitations. Under this programme, medical teams conduct home visits to perform examinations, monitor health conditions, and educate family members, ensuring optimal access to healthcare. To date, the programme has benefited 201 mustahik, comprising 157 recipients of mobile health unit services and 44 recipients of home care. This initiative represents the utilisation of zakat, infak, and sedekah funds collected by YBM PLN Babel to provide real benefits for those in need. “This programme reflects the concern of PLN personnel in extending broader benefits to the community, particularly in the health sector,” she said. Through the synergy between YBM PLN Babel and Rumah Sehat Baznas, the aim is to ensure that the zakat collected from PLN employees truly reaches and is felt by the community. This health service programme embodies the commitment to helping people access healthcare more easily, especially for those in remote areas or patients with mobility limitations. “We strive to ensure this collaboration continues to provide sustainable benefits and improves the quality of life for the people of Babel,” she said. Mustahik Sumiati, a recipient of the home care service, expressed her gratitude for the programme, as her health condition made it difficult for her to visit a health facility. “This home visit service is a very helpful solution; I can still receive proper examinations and treatment free of charge,” she said.
