PT PLN has ensured the readiness of PLN Emergency Posts and Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) along strategic Eid holiday travel routes in Java heading towards Bali. Key locations include the Gilimanuk Anjungan Betutu area in Bali and Grand Watu Dodol in Banyuwangi, which will serve as primary transit points for electric vehicle users during the 2026 Eid holiday.

The Director of Retail and Commerce at PT PLN, Adi Priyanto, stated that PLN has prepared emergency posts that function not only as technical service centres but also as rest stops for electric vehicle travellers undertaking long-distance journeys.

“In addition to providing SPKLU, we are also setting up PLN Emergency Posts as rest areas for holiday travellers. Here there are rest areas, light refreshments, and waiting spaces for electric vehicle users whilst their vehicles are charging,” Adi said during an inspection of the SPKLU facility at Gilimanuk Anjungan, on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

He explained that the existence of these posts is part of PLN’s effort to provide comfort to electric vehicle users travelling across provinces, particularly on the Java–Bali crossing route, which is expected to be congested during the Eid holiday exodus and return period.

According to Adi, the Gilimanuk area was chosen because it is a strategic location and a local culinary destination for holiday travellers. Various regional specialities such as betutu chicken are available in the area, offering options for drivers to rest before continuing their journey.

Meanwhile, the Manager of PT PLN (Persero) UP3 North Bali, Elashinta, explained that the SPKLU facility at Gilimanuk Anjungan has been equipped with large-capacity charging infrastructure to support the needs of both four-wheeled and two-wheeled electric vehicles.

“At this location there is a 180 kW (kilowatt) charger with two nozzles that can simultaneously charge two cars. Additionally, there is a 22 kW charger which is typically used by certain electric vehicles such as Wuling,” she said.

Beyond this, PLN also provides six SPKLU units for two-wheeled electric vehicles, allowing motorcycle riders to charge simultaneously. Elashinta added that the SPKLU network in the West Bali and North Bali areas continues to be strengthened to ensure smooth mobility for both tourists and holiday travellers.
