PLN Apologises for Rolling Blackouts, Vows to Strengthen Java's Power System
PT PLN (Persero) has issued a public apology for the rolling blackouts that affected several areas of Java in recent days, as the state-owned utility works to restore the electricity system following power plant disruptions. President Director Darmawan Prasodjo acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the outages. “We also wish to apologise profusely for the discomfort experienced by the public due to the rolling blackouts last week,” Darmawan said. PLN stated that various remedial measures are underway, including restoring the affected power plants and overhauling the management of the primary energy supply chain. Darmawan noted that government support, particularly from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has helped accelerate the recovery of Java’s power system. He stressed that PLN will continue to maintain the recovery process to ensure the system becomes more reliable and capable of meeting public electricity demand without further interruptions.
