PT PLN (Persero) Main Distribution Unit (UID) Yogyakarta is working in synergy with Military District Command (Kodim) 0730/Gunungkidul to ensure the readiness of electricity supply for the Red-and-White Village/Neighbourhood Cooperatives (Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih, KDKMP), which are scheduled to be inaugurated in August 2026, coinciding with the commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

The synergy was discussed during an audience between PLN and Kodim 0730/Gunungkidul at the Gunungkidul Military District Headquarters on Tuesday (21 July), attended by Manager of PLN UP3 Yogyakarta and Wonosari Agung Pratomo along with PLN staff, and Commander of Kodim (Dandim) 0730/Gunungkidul Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Alfian Yudha Praniawan.

During the audience, PLN and Kodim aligned data on the locations of the KDKMPs to be inaugurated and discussed the readiness of electricity connections at each site. The Kodim provided updates on conditions in the field, including targeted programme locations and the needs to be prepared. That data will then be used by PLN to carry out verification and ensure the readiness of electricity services at each location.

Manager of PLN UP3 Yogyakarta and Wonosari Agung Pratomo said PLN continues to coordinate with Kodim Gunungkidul to ensure that the electricity needs of every KDKMP location can be met according to conditions and requirements on the ground.

“Together with Kodim Gunungkidul, we are synchronising data on the locations of the Red-and-White Village/Neighbourhood Cooperatives while ensuring the readiness of the network and the electricity connection process. We want to make certain that all locations to be inaugurated are electrically ready, so that the energisation process can run smoothly and on time,” said Agung.

According to him, early coordination is important to ensure that power requirements and electricity conditions at each location can be properly mapped.

“Through this coordination, we can verify locations and electricity needs at an early stage. That way, if there are matters that need to be prepared, we can follow up immediately so that by the time of the inauguration, the electricity supply is ready and able to support the cooperatives’ operations,” he said.

Commander of Kodim (Dandim) 0730/Gunungkidul Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Alfian Yudha Praniawan said the synergy between Kodim and PLN has been established across various activities, including the provision of electricity within Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) facilities.

“Currently, we are also collaborating on the implementation of the Red-and-White Village/Neighbourhood Cooperatives. PLN is helping us with electricity installations, making this cooperation a form of strategic collaboration in support of the National Strategic Programme,” said Alfian.

He appreciated PLN’s step of conducting direct coordination to ensure electricity readiness at the KDKMP locations.

“We are grateful to PLN for supporting the implementation of the Red-and-White Village/Neighbourhood Cooperatives through electricity installation. Going forward, we will follow up this coordination through even closer cooperation,” he said.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) Yogyakarta Deri Prasetio Utomo said PLN is committed to supporting the National Strategic Programme through the provision of reliable electricity infrastructure, including to support KDKMP operations.

“PLN is ready to ensure that all electricity supply needs of the Red-and-White Village/Neighbourhood Cooperatives can be met reliably and on time. The synergy with Kodim Gunungkidul is important to ensure every location has been verified so that the energisation process runs smoothly,” said Deri.

According to him, cross-sector collaboration is needed to deliver quality electricity services while supporting regional development and economic growth at the village level.

“The momentum ahead of the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia serves as motivation for PLN to continue providing reliable electricity as a foundation for development. Through collaboration with regional governments, the TNI, and all stakeholders, we want to ensure that the presence of electricity delivers real benefits to the community,” he said.

The audience forms part of PLN and Kodim Gunungkidul’s efforts to align data and ensure the readiness of electricity connections at KDKMP locations. With continued coordination, PLN hopes the inauguration of the KDKMPs in August 2026 can proceed as planned, supported by a reliable electricity supply.
