Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - PLN Unit Induk Distribusi Kalimantan Selatan dan Kalimantan Tengah (UID Kalselteng) and LKBN ANTARA Biro Kalimantan Tengah (ANTARA Kalteng), along with several mass media outlets in Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan, are strengthening synergy and collaboration in disseminating information related to electricity programmes to the public.

“The role of mass media is very important in bridging information between PLN and the public, particularly in supporting public understanding of various programmes, policies, and electricity services to the community,” said General Manager of PLN UID Kalselteng, Iwan Soelistijono, when contacted from Palangka Raya on Thursday.

He stated that the media has a strategic role in delivering accurate and balanced information to the public, including regarding services, innovations, and PLN programmes.

According to him, openness of information is key to building public trust. Therefore, PLN is committed to continuously fostering intensive and transparent communication with the press.

“It is hoped that the strong synergy between PLN and mass media can support the dissemination of educational information, so that the public can understand PLN’s role in maintaining the reliability of electricity supply and encouraging development in the region,” he said.

Specifically with LKBN ANTARA, this collaboration also serves as a form of enhancing synergy and cooperation between State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in the Kalselteng region.

He said that through this collaboration, they aim to increase the dissemination of information to the public regarding various work programmes and achievements of PLN as well as various electricity services.

“So that the public increasingly knows that PLN not only provides electricity to all communities but also strives to maintain reliability so that electrical energy for every community can be preserved,” he said.

One programme to strengthen cooperation with the media was carried out through a media gathering held in Banjar Baru, South Kalimantan.

On the first day, the gathering was filled with presentations of PLN UID Kalselteng’s work programmes, interactive discussions, and a question-and-answer session between PLN management and the attending journalists.

On the second day, or Wednesday, the event included visits to the Ir PM Noor Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA), oyster mushroom cultivation businesses and a waste bank supported by PLN UID Kalselteng through the TJSL programme, as well as an introduction to the equipment and fleet used by PLN to maintain electricity reliability.

Head of LKBN ANTARA Central Kalimantan Bureau, Joko Susilo, appreciated the well-established cooperation and collaboration with PT PLN UID Kalselteng.

“As a state news agency, LKBN ANTARA will always be ready to synergise and support the dissemination of information related to PLN programmes,” he said.

He hopes that this cooperation and collaboration will have a positive impact on both BUMN companies, especially in terms of benefits for disseminating information and programmes to the wider public.
