Plenary Session Agrees to Amend Kadin Law as DPR Initiative

The House of Representatives (DPR RI) has agreed that the Bill concerning the Amendment to Law Number 1 of 1987 regarding the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) will be designated as a DPR initiative bill. This decision was finalised during a plenary session of the DPR.

The plenary session was held at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/09/202<0xA0>6). A total of 195 members were present at the meeting.

The session was presided over by Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal, with the presence of Speaker Puan Maharani and Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa.

Initially, Cucun requested the opinions of the various parliamentary factions regarding the Bill to amend Law Number 1 of 1987 concerning the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was originally proposed by Commission VI of the DPR. The factions’ opinions were submitted in writing.

Subsequently, Cucun sought the approval of the attending members to officially designate the Bill as a DPR initiative. The members of parliament unanimously agreed.

“We ask this honourable assembly, can the bill proposed by Commission VI of the DPR regarding the Chamber of Commerce and Industry be approved as a DPR RI initiative bill?” asked Cucun.

“Agreed,” replied the members of parliament.
