Plaza Indonesia celebrates its 8th anniversary

JAKARTA (JP): Plaza Indonesia, one of the city's major shopping and leisure attractions, began its 8th anniversary celebrations yesterday with eight activities, eight days of fashion parades and eight days of sales.

Plaza Indonesia's Promotions and Advertising Manager Mia Egron said the celebrations were intended to thank the plaza's loyal customers.

"The anniversary is very special for us. We hope our customers will also enjoy the celebrations," Egron said.

She said the shopping center had prepared eight thematic fairs and exhibitions, including an art and handicrafts bazaar, a cosmetic fair offering free make-up demos, a fortune teller and a children's playground.

"An eight-day sale began throughout the center on March 20," she said.

"The celebrations also include eight days of fashion parades held using eight different themes such as Cosmopolitan Flair, Young $ Trendy, Children's Wear, Sport & Fitness, Business Style, Indonesian Designers and Evening wear," Egron added.

The fashion parades will feature collections from Indonesian and International designers such as Ghea Panggabean, Poppy Dharsono, Biyan, Escada, Laurel, Esprit, Chevignon, DKNY, Giafranco Ferre and Dolce & Gabbana, she said.

The plaza intends to involve two orphanages, Panti Asuhan Hati Suci and Panti Asuhan Nusantara in its celebrations.

"Besides appreciating our customers we feel that it's important to remember the less fortunate. We would like to share our happiness with them," Egron said. (jun)
