Play-group treatment
Play-group treatment
From Bisnis Indonesia
As a mother of a preschool child not yet four years old, I
would like to question the treatment they receive at play-groups
in the city.
My son attended on July 19 such a group organized by Diakonia
School in Pluit, North Jakarta. Unlike other children, he cried
and refused to follow activities.
During the one-hour trial session, he mostly sat in a corner
and showed sporadic interest in a few toys, but did not interact
with others, who remained unaffected by his behavior.
The following day, the principal told me that my son would not
be admitted to the group because "he will disturb the
concentration of the other children".
My question is whether the time allowed to my son -- only an
hour -- was enough for him to adjust to his new environment.
