Plates feature leading couples

JAKARTA: Ceramic plates with portraits of President Soeharto, Mrs. Tien Soeharto, Vice President Try Sutrisno and Mrs. Sutrisno will be on sale soon.

The plates are produced by a ceramic crafts woman, Yotti, who met with Mrs. Try to discuss the project yesterday.

"We've made 2,000 plates and will offer them to the presidential and vice presidential palaces before selling them to the public," she told reporters.

The plates, 30 centimeters in diameter, are for decoration. They are to sell at Rp 30,000 ($13) each. (pan)
