Jakarta — PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda), or Jakpro, is introducing varied new programming and improving service systems for visitors to the Planetarium during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period for the Islamic year 1447 Hijri.

“We will introduce more varied programming concepts at the Planetarium following three months of promotional activities,” said PT Jakpro Chief Executive Officer Iwan Takwin in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He stated that whereas all performance sessions previously featured identical content, each future session will have a different theme. “This means the public can watch more than once in a single day or return on different days because the content will be different,” Takwin said.

According to him, the concept resembles the cinema experience, where each session has a different title or theme, providing more choices for visitors.

Beyond programming, Jakpro is also enhancing visitor services, including queue management and ticketing systems to make operations more organised and comfortable for guests.

Takwin explained that the ticketing system will not be centralised at a single point. Jakpro is preparing several facilities and ticketing systems to prevent visitor congestion at one location. Offline ticket sales will also continue to be available at the Planetarium site.

“We are preparing several ticketing systems to prevent congestion at one point. Offline ticket sales will also remain available on-site to mitigate various issues that previously emerged,” Takwin said.

With these changes, performances will not merely involve passive viewing like films, but will also provide interactive spaces that can enhance interest in astronomy. “In the future, it will not simply be watching from beginning to end, but there will be interactions that make children and students more interested and increase their curiosity about astronomy,” Takwin said.

He added that these updates will begin implementation after the Planetarium’s promotional period ends in March 2026. “Jakpro hopes these various innovations can serve as a catalyst to boost public enthusiasm for returning to visit the Planetarium,” Takwin stated.
