Plan for five-star pet hotel in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR (DPA): Wealthy pet owners in Malaysia will soon be able to go on their holidays with peace of mind, as a five- star hotel for animals is in the offing soon.
University Putra Malaysia is looking for a private sector partner to invest in the six million ringgit (US$2.4 million) project.
UPM veterinary medicine faculty dean, Professor Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, said yesterday, "We are looking for a partner who will invest in half (three million ringgit) of the project."
Sheikh Omar said the hotel proposed daily charges of 50 ringgit, including three meals for normal accommodation. "There will also be luxurious accommodations with hill views. We will also set up an aquarium for the pets."
"It will be able to cater to a few hundred pets such as dogs, cats, birds, and even horses," he said, adding that it will be the first of its kind in Malaysia.
