JAKARTA: The match between Indonesia and China at the men's
team Thomas Cup on Monday attracted not only home fans to air
their support but also journalists covering the biennial event
who opened a bidding on who will be the eventual winner.

There are 13 journalists from various countries for a wager of
Rp20,000 (US$2.30) each. Four journalists placed their bets to
the Chinese team while the majority put it on the Indonesian
team.

The pool was closed at 17:40 p.m. before the line-ups were
announced.

The 'bookie', who requested anonymity, said pools will also be
held for quarterfinals. -- JP
