PKS West Java Aid Post Distributes Relief Packages to Cisarua Landslide Victims
The PKS Jawa Barat aid post has continued to distribute relief packages to landslide victims in Pasirlangu, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, including throughout the Ramadhan month. They have also invited landslide victims to perform tarawih prayers together.
Relief packages have been distributed since the disaster occurred, including ready-to-eat food, staple groceries, nappies and baby food. Supplements for volunteers, wearable clothing, blankets and kitchen equipment for the aid post have also been provided.
Iwan Suryawan, Deputy Chair of the West Java Regional Assembly (DPRD), together with approximately 200 residents, performed tarawih prayers and broke fast together recently. He stated that he deliberately visited to build relationships with the residents.
“We want to be accepted as part of the Pasirlangu family. That is why we break fast together and hope this becomes a sustainable way of building relationships,” he said recently in Pasirlangu Village.
He added that the PKS West Java aid post has been operational since the disaster began and continues to operate. Iwan stated that he continues to urge the West Bandung Regency Regional Assembly to advocate for landslide disaster victims.
Iwan called upon all residents to increase their religious observance. Also present were Tang Trisnanto, General Secretary of the PKS West Java Regional Board, and Umi Siti Muntamah, the treasurer.
