PKS Vows Unwavering Support for Palestinian Independence

President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Almuzzammil Yusuf, received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Indonesia, Abdalfatah A.K. Alsattari, at the PKS Central Executive Board office in Jakarta on 28 July. The meeting between the two figures took place in a warm, cordial, and fraternal atmosphere. In his remarks following the meeting, Almuzzammil expressed high appreciation for the proactive efforts of the Palestinian Embassy in Indonesia, which continues to build synergy and collaboration with various elements of the nation, including political parties. ‘We are delighted to welcome Ambassador Abdalfatah and his delegation to the PKS Central Executive Board office. PKS appreciates his efforts to continuously foster collaboration with various elements to support Palestinian independence. In fact, he mentioned that the PKS office was the first party office he has visited since assuming his post in January 2026. This is certainly an honour for the entire PKS family,’ Almuzzammil stated. During the warm discussion, Almuzzammil also conveyed PKS’s commitment to the Palestinian struggle, which was recently reinforced through the party’s third Syuro Council Deliberation. ‘We informed the Ambassador that the struggle for Palestine is an official party decision. One of the outcomes of the third PKS Syuro Council Deliberation, which we held on 25–26 July 2026, specifically mandates pushing the government, parliament, and all components of the nation to be more active in fighting for Palestinian independence. This is a mandate of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia that we must safeguard together,’ he stressed. Almuzzammil further elaborated that PKS’s commitment to fighting for the rights of the Palestinian people will never wane, as it is based on four solid foundations. ‘PKS is fully committed to continuing the struggle for Palestinian independence based on four strong foundations. First, the constitutional foundation. The Preamble of the 1945 Constitution mandates that independence is the right of all nations and that colonialism must be abolished,’ Almuzzammil explained. ‘Second, the historical foundation. We must not forget President Soekarno’s speech, in which he loudly declared that as long as the Palestinian nation is not independent, Indonesia will continue to oppose Israeli colonialism. Third, the ideological foundation, which is the implementation of the second principle of Pancasila, a just and civilised humanity. And fourth, the moral foundation. As the country with the largest Muslim majority population, it is our moral and fraternal duty to stand in defence of Palestine,’ he added. Concluding his statement, Almuzzammil confirmed that PKS’s doors will always be open to the Palestinian people and that the party is ready to be a strategic partner for the Palestinian Embassy in garnering support for Palestinian independence.
