PKS Urges Cohesion Between Police and AGO in Febrie Adriansyah Corruption Probe
The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has backed the establishment of a Working Committee (Panja) by Commission III to oversee the handling of the alleged corruption case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. PKS urged the National Police and the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) to maintain cohesion throughout the legal process.
This was conveyed by Commission III member Adang Daradjatun during a special commission meeting at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday (11/7/2026).
“I, Adang Daradjatun from the PKS Faction, strongly approve the formation of the Panja led by the Chairman of Commission III, Mr Habiburokhman,” Adang stated.
While supporting the committee’s formation, Adang emphasised the need for all law enforcement agencies to remain synergistic so that the legal process proceeds professionally without causing polemics within each institution.
“But there is a message for everyone involved in this activity: it is important to maintain cohesion. Institutional cohesion, whether it be the National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, or the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), so that these issues can be resolved properly and professionally,” he said.
Meanwhile, Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman confirmed that the investigation would not only involve the police and the Attorney General’s Office but would also be supervised by the KPK.
“The Jampidsus still wants to synergise with the Corruption Crime Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor), and it will later be supervised by the KPK, as well as being directly monitored by the Panja that we will form in this meeting,” Habiburokhman stated.
Habiburokhman explained that the Panja was formed as a follow-up to the dynamics surrounding the handling of the corruption case, which has recently come under public scrutiny. He noted that the committee would be tasked with directly monitoring and supervising the case handling process.
“In today’s meeting, colleagues will convey their stances and state whether they agree or disagree with forming the Panja. This committee will technically monitor and directly supervise the implementation of this case’s handling,” he said.
He assessed that the case under investigation deserves special attention as it falls into the category of mega-corruption.
“This is because the case can be considered a mega-corruption case, given the amount of evidence seized and secured is already so substantial,” he remarked.
The proposal to form the Panja received unanimous support from all factions present at the meeting. In addition to approving the committee’s formation, all factions also agreed to appoint Habiburokhman as its chairman.
President’s Attention
Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, previously asserted that the investigation into alleged corruption in coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel had the attention of President Prabowo.
“This is the President’s attention regarding alleged corruption cases, which have become a focus for the police to carry out disclosures and investigations. This series of searches is part of the investigative process to find and collect evidence to fulfil the requirements of the investigation,” Budi Hermanto said following a search at Cafe de’Clan in Cipete, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/7).
Budi stated that the searches were part of uncovering alleged coal corruption at PLN, which triggered a blackout in Sumatra some time ago, as well as cases involving ASABRI and Krakatau Steel. The corruption cases under investigation include bribery, gratification, and money laundering.
“The Kortas Tipikor together with the Metro Jaya Regional Police are investigating alleged corruption cases involving bribery, gratification, and money laundering. Several locations are currently being searched simultaneously, including the current location at Cafe de’Clan and Koin Money Changer. This is related to the alleged corruption in the PLN coal blackout, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel,” he said.
