PKS: To Improve Public Services, Every Rupiah Must Return to the People
The PKS Faction of the Jakarta DPRD has delivered a message to the Jakarta Provincial Government regarding the use of the 2026 Revised Regional Budget (APBD), stating that from improving public services to ensuring every rupiah returns to the people, there must be no waste.
This was conveyed by Achmad Yani, spokesperson for the PKS Faction, during the General View of Factions regarding the Draft Regional Regulation on the 2026 Jakarta Provincial Regional Budget Changes and the Draft Regional Regulation on the Implementation of Child-Friendly Cities (KLA) at the Jakarta DPRD Plenary Session on Thursday (3/9/2026).
Achmad Yani presented ten PKS messages, including: ensuring budget changes are based on realisation evaluations; ensuring fuel expenditure aligns with real operational needs; adjusting the Bantargebang grant to match waste volume; promoting Setu Babakan as an integrated tourist destination; ensuring efficient and impactful transport subsidies; optimising Bus On Top as a modern tourist service; strengthening studies on transportation management in the Thousand Islands; accelerating E-TRAPT to prevent tax leakage; monitoring transport Operational Expenditure (OPEX) and the performance of Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD); and ensuring social protection spending is well-targeted.
The PKS politician, affectionately known as Bang Yani, continued that these messages could be summarised into several major points.
“Ensure that APBD funds are not wasted, because every budget increase must be based on clear needs and evaluation results,” said Yani.
Furthermore, according to Yani, the Jakarta Provincial Government must improve the quality of public services, particularly in transport, health, education, and services for the residents of the Thousand Islands.
Additionally, he stressed that eligible citizens must not lose access to social assistance (bansos).
“KJMU (Jakarta Education Card) and PBI BPJS (Health Insurance) must use accurate data and provide a recovery mechanism for recipients who still meet the requirements,” Yani added.
Equally important, Yani, who also serves as an Advisor to the PKS Faction, mentioned the need to close regional revenue leakages through the acceleration of the Electronic Transaction Perporation Agent (E-TRAPT), as well as ensuring transparency in Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) regarding their Operational Expenditure (OPEX) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of company operational spending.
“This is necessary so that regional revenue potential is not lost,” he said.
“For PKS, the most important thing is that every rupiah of the APBD must be felt by the community, whether in the form of better services, well-targeted social assistance, more effective transport, or the development of the economy and MSMEs,” Yani concluded.
