PKS Targets 1.7 Million Volunteers by 2029
The Prosperous Justice Party’s (PKS) National Witness and Volunteer Division (BRSN) held the 2026 PKS National Orientation Training (TOP) at the DPTP PKS Office Hall in Jakarta on Saturday (13/6). The event was attended by PKS Secretary-General Muhammad Kholid and DPP PKS Chair for National Witness and Volunteers Bachtiar Firdaus. This activity is part of PKS’s efforts to enhance volunteer capacity while expanding collaboration with various elements of society to support the party’s service and struggle within community life.
During the occasion, Bachtiar Firdaus outlined the development direction of the Sahabat PKS Movement through to 2029. He stressed that starting this week, BRSN aims to ensure the volunteer recruitment and development process runs continuously every day. “We hope that starting this week, there will be no day without a movement from BRSN to hold PKS TOP, recruit new Sahabat PKS friends, and simultaneously expand the volunteer network,” said Bachtiar.
He explained that before TOP PKS was introduced nationally, BRSN first ran the Sahabat PKS Training for Trainer (TFT) programme. The programme is designed to foster a sustainable culture of cadre development and recruitment by inviting more people to participate in various service and empowerment programmes initiated by PKS. “The spirit is simple yet very important: every day there must be an effort to invite, embrace, and expand the ranks of the struggle. Because if PKS wants to serve the people and realise the nation’s welfare, we must work shoulder-to-shoulder with the people. We cannot walk alone,” he said.
At the same event, BRSN also officially launched the National TOP and the Sahabat PKS Volunteer Movement as part of the strategy to strengthen the party’s service and struggle within society. Bachtiar revealed that PKS is targeting the formation of 1.7 million Sahabat PKS volunteers ahead of the next general election. According to him, achieving this target requires the support and cooperation of all party elements, from BRSN, divisions and bodies at the DPP level, to party structures in various regions. “We hope the target of 1.7 million Sahabat PKS volunteers can be achieved. This target certainly requires the cooperation of all party elements. With strong synergy, God willing, we can realise this target together,” he stated.
He also encouraged all PKS ranks to strengthen partnerships with communities, volunteers, and various community groups. According to Bachtiar, the broader the public involvement in the social movements run by PKS, the greater the benefits that can be provided to the nation and state. To support organisational strengthening, BRSN has prepared the Join PKS Information Management System as a registration tool for TOP PKS participants, allowing the data collection process to be more organised and well-documented. Additionally, BRSN is developing an integrated volunteer and witness management system to enhance professionalism in volunteer management. “With the support of an integrated system, we hope various breakthroughs will emerge in volunteer management, strengthening the witness network, and consolidating the Sahabat PKS movement nationally,” Bachtiar explained.
Meanwhile, PKS Secretary-General Muhammad Kholid asserted that the success of the volunteer movement is not determined by the number of slogans or political rhetoric, but by the ability to deliver concrete solutions to the community. “This is the most important thing. Society today is weary of promises and political rhetoric. They need real presence. This orientation training is held so that every volunteer and witness has sufficient provisions to become a problem solver,” said Kholid. “To become a mover who knows how to help manage citizens’ administration, safeguard the community’s social rights, and be responsive in providing solutions to problems in their neighbourhood RT/RW environments,” Kholid added.
According to Kholid, PKS volunteers and witnesses must appear as the front line in delivering services whose benefits are truly felt by the community. Through continuous training and mentoring, they are expected to become a bridge between citizens’ needs and various solutions that can be realised through social activities, community service, and public advocacy. Through the implementation of the 2026 PKS National TOP and the launch of the Sahabat PKS Volunteer Movement, PKS hopes that more volunteers will not only be active in political and democratic activities but also act as agents of goodness who are present to help solve various community problems in their respective environments. With this step, PKS seeks to strengthen a culture of service as the main foundation for building closeness while increasing public trust.
