PKS Suddenly Replaces Jakarta DPRD Chairman Khoirudin

The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction in the Jakarta DPRD has appointed Suhud Aliyudin as the Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD, replacing Khoirudin. This change was confirmed by the Chairman of the PKS faction in the Jakarta DPRD, Muhammad Taufik Zulkifli. “The current Chairman of the DPRD Province of DKI Jakarta is indeed the right of the PKS faction for that position,” said MTZ, the familiar nickname for Muhammad Taufik Zulkifli, in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4). MTZ stated that the decision for the replacement has been determined by the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of PKS. He explained that the PKS DKI Jakarta Regional Leadership Council (DPW) has received a letter from the DPP regarding the rotation or replacement of the position. The DPW of PKS DKI then forwarded the letter to the PKS faction in the Jakarta DPRD to be processed according to the applicable mechanisms. “So this procedure is because of the attention to the DPRD Chairman, so it cannot be replaced just like that, like the previous replacement of the Chairman of Commission E or the Secretary of Commission C,” he said. He added that the process of replacing the DPRD Chairman is not as simple as replacing other positions, because it must go through longer administrative stages. After receiving instructions from the DPW, the PKS faction then submitted an official letter to the DPRD leadership to be followed up. “We submitted that letter to the Chairman of the DPRD himself, and then it will be continued with the request or this letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs,” he said. PKS has the right to the Chairman’s seat of the DPRD DKI Jakarta for the 2024-2029 period because it won the 2024 legislative elections with the most seats (18 seats).
