PKS States Replacement of DKI DPRD Chairman is for Consolidation, Not Internal Conflict
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Chairman of the PKS Faction in the DKI Jakarta DPRD, M. Taufik Zoelkifli, stated that the replacement of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Chairman from Khoirudin to Suhud Alynudin is a decision by the Prosperous Justice Party’s (PKS) Central Executive Board (DPP) that has undergone careful consideration.
“Of course, it has been carefully considered by the leaders at the DPP. As for us at the DPW, in PKS, the principle is sami’na wa atha’na (we hear, we obey). So if there is a change, we hear and we obey,” Taufik said when confirmed on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
Taufik assured that the leadership change at the top of the DPRD is not driven by internal party conflicts. According to him, the replacement is part of a series of consolidations that have previously occurred in the party structure.
He explained that the process of replacing the DKI Jakarta DPRD Chairman is still ongoing and must go through several administrative stages.
The replacement proposal will first be reported to the Ministry of Home Affairs, then returned to the DPRD for discussion, and coordinated with the Governor of DKI Jakarta before being brought to a plenary session.
“There is a process. The replacement of the DPRD Chairman must be reported to the Ministry of Home Affairs, then it will be returned to the DPRD, and we will also coordinate with the Governor. Then there will be a plenary session first before the replacement. So the process will likely take a while,” he said.
Regarding Khoirudin’s position, Taufik mentioned that the individual will receive a new role within the party. With the experience he possesses, Khoirudin is expected to contribute more broadly at the national level or within the DPP.
“In PKS across all provinces in Indonesia. So he can be elevated with his input (Khoirudin). So he will become a coordinator, something like that,” Taufik revealed.
The decree also states that the position of DPRD Chairman previously held by Khoirudin is proposed to be replaced by Suhud Alynudin. This decision was conveyed to the PKS Jakarta DPW to be followed up in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
In addition, the appointed party member is obliged to carry out the duties and authority as DPRD Chairman as well as a council member and faction member as a party mandate.
The decision is effective from the date of its issuance until the end of the DKI Jakarta DPRD term for the 2024–2029 period, with the note that it can be amended if errors are found later.
